The St. Joseph Association and the Una Voce Albany-Kateri Tekakwitha Chapter of St. Peter's Parish in Troy, New York, invite you and your school or parish to participate in the second annual May Procession on Thursday, May 1, 2003, beginning at 6 p.m. at St. Patrick's Church in Troy, and culminating with benediction at St. Peter's Church, also in Troy.

Between February 11 and July 16, 1858, Our Lady appeared 18 times to a 14 year old girl, Bernadette Soubirous. On the day of the Annunciation, March 25, she told the young shepherdess, "I am the Immaculate Conception." This revelation of the absence of Original Sin has earned Mary the title Mother of God.

We cannot help but to reflect on the utter trust we must place in Our Lady and her Son amidst confusion and times of difficulty. We see many examples throughout the life of Christ of how practical a mother was Mary. We must stay close to Mary, and honoring her with a public procession and crowning gives an unambiguous message to the world of our devotion to her as our intercessor to Her Son.

Holy Mother Church has long observed the month of May as devoted to Our Lady. Please join us as we honor Mary in our May Crowning procession on May 1, 2003.
